Easy access to your Microsoft® 365 files

Now it’s even easier to open and edit Microsoft® Word, Excel®, and PowerPoint® files on your Chromebook using the Microsoft® 365 app with the new OneDrive integration.* The app seamlessly connects Microsoft® OneDrive to your Chromebook’s Files app, so you can continue working on existing projects or start brand new ones. To get started, just select the Microsoft 365 file you want to open and you’ll be guided through the quick and easy setup process.

*Additional functionality available with a Microsoft 365® subscription. Microsoft, Excel and PowerPoint are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.

View multiple calendars from the shelf

Now you can view events for up to 10 calendars within the Google Calendar shortcut on your shelf. So if you have different calendars for “Work” and “Family events”, as long as they’re set up on the Google Calendar app or web experience, they’ll also automatically also show up on your Chromebook.

Follow words with Select-to-speak

When you read text aloud using Select-to-speak with the Magnifier turned on, the Magnifier will now automatically follow the words as they are spoken, so you don’t lose your place. You can enable both Magnifier and Select-to-speak in your settings, and select your preferred zoom level using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + Alt + Brightness up or Ctrl + Alt + Brightness down). Then, select the text you want to read and press the Select-to-speak play button, or the keyboard shortcut (Everything button or key + S).

Change your cursor size or blink rate

Now you have options to adjust your mouse cursor size or text cursor blink rate, making it easier to follow the pointer or focus. If you have low vision or prefer a larger mouse cursor, you can adjust the mouse cursor size with a slider in settings. Additionally, if you prefer to avoid flashing imagery, you can turn off the blinking text cursor. Adjust the blink rate of your cursor in the Accessibility section in Settings.
